In the last week of March 2015, I had the opportunity to attend the first ever Law Repositories Conference, made possible by a grant from AALL/Bloomberg Continuing Education Grants Program, and by the sponsorship of LIPA (Legal Information Preservation Alliance) and Bepress. The official title of the conference was “Law Repositories: Shaping the Future,” and it’s never been clearer that this is exactly what we’re doing. Sitting in a conference room in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg, in a hotel surrounded by tri-corner hats and Ben Franklin impersonators, “the future” came to feel like a revolutionary idea. The ABA TECHSHOW: Where Lawyers and Technology Meet
Since living in Chicago, I have been fortunate to attend the ABA TECHSHOW Expo every year. As a technology librarian, the Expo portion of the TECHSHOW is always a thrill for me; I enjoy getting to try out new devices and equipment, speak to vendors, and learn about the latest and greatest technology products and services on the market.
Through the generosity of a CALL grant, 2015 was the first year I was able to attend the full ABA TECHSHOW conference. This presented a wonderful opportunity to go beyond vendor showcases to learn directly from the experiences of those who are working at the intersection of law and technology.

CALL Member Leaders in AALL and SLA
As CALL’s new Executive Board begins their term on June 1, I would like to recognize CALL members who will be taking on leadership roles within AALL and SLA in 2015-2016. Their commitment to these associations and our profession is a great reflection on them as individuals and on CALL. CALL wishes them great success in the upcoming year.

And we won the 2015 AALL Excellence in Marketing Award for Best Newsletter!

The committee met once in August 2014 to designate the recipients of our in-kind and monetary donations. At this meeting we also designated members of the committee that would be in charge of taking the lead in organizing the collections for each meeting.

Annual Reports: Corporate Memory Committee
The 2014-2015 CALL Corporate Memory Committee was: Betty Roeske, Chairperson; Frank Drake, Judy Gaskell, JoAnn Hounshell, Christine Morong, Susan Siebers and Clare Willis. We updated the Policy Log three times this year: August 2014 Board Minutes, December 2014 Board Minutes, and April 2015 Board Minutes. The Committee is also reviewing the Policy Log against the CALL Handbook. When the CALL Board decided to review the Handbook earlier this year than usual, the Committee paused on its review of the Policy Log against the CALL Handbook.
I would like to thank the Committee for all their hard work this year. A special thank you to Clare Willis for updating the Policy Log so quickly after our meetings.
