On May 9, 2019, CALL hosted our Business Meeting at Petterino’s with Marlon Lutifiyya, Director of Talent and Diversity at Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP, who spoke about diversity and inclusion in the legal community.

Challenges

Mr. Lutifiyya highlighted the important role the library has played in addressing the default hiring practices that work against increasing diversity and inclusions.

Through the process, he noted how important it is to avoid “outsourcing” diversity work to rules alone. He said the library and other committed staff are essential to building a different company-wide commitment.
