Key Actions Approved
• Approved the October 2025 agenda and September 2025 meeting minutes.
• Continued planning and oversight of the website redesign project, including development of board member and career development pages.
Ongoing Business
• Website redesign: Development is progressing well. A new nonprofit/government-focused theme has been purchased and implementation is underway. The new site will initially retain existing content while improving layout and functionality. Board member profile options and website forms remain under review.
• Listserv issues: Website links continue to generate errors through the listserv. The Board agreed to revisit the issue after the website redesign is completed.
• Committee reports: The Board discussed improving procedures and timelines for annual committee reports. Publishing annual reports in a dedicated September Bulletin issue will be explored further.
• Committee Chair Summit: Board members reported positive engagement and productive cross-committee discussion. Recruiting additional volunteers remains a priority, as a relatively small group of members continues to handle much of the committee work.
Committee Updates
• Archives: Preparing for the committee’s first meeting and discussing website archiving needs.
• Bulletin: Working toward an early November issue and establishing committee liaisons. A September issue focused on annual reports is being considered.
• Community Service: Planning a Liberation Library event on November 22.
• Continuing Education: Exploring an additional roundtable program and coordinating event logistics.
• Diversity & Inclusion: No new updates; recruitment of additional committee members remains a challenge.
• Government Relations: Planning a program on artificial intelligence and legislation and researching the possible return of the Legislator of the Year Award.
• Grants & Chapter Awards: Reviewing grant structure and application processes, with an emphasis on accessibility and encouraging applications from newer professionals.
• Meetings: Exploring a future presentation with Lawyers for the Creative Arts.
• Mentorship & Career Development: Hosted a recent happy hour and continues to support website development efforts.
• Nominations & Elections: Continuing outreach and recruitment efforts, including informational Q&A sessions for prospective board and committee volunteers.
• Public Relations: Expanded social media efforts on LinkedIn and Facebook, reviewed account management procedures, and began evaluating social media policies. The committee will support promotion of future website content and events.
