Chapter Registration Grant Opportunity for the 2025 AALL Annual Meeting & Conference – Deadline April 30, 2025

This year, AALL is pleased to offer your Chapter the opportunity to participate in the Chapter Registration Grant for the 2025 Annual Meeting & Conference, July 19-22 in Portland.

This grant provides one complimentary registration for the 2025 Annual Meeting & Conference for a newer AALL member (with less than 3 years of membership), who is also a member of your Chapter. Your Chapter is responsible for selecting the recipient who will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs. This grant aims to support and engage newer members by offering them a valuable opportunity to learn, connect, and grow within the law librarianship community.

Please note:

• This grant must be awarded to someone who has not yet registered for the Annual Meeting & Conference. AALL cannot issue refunds for existing registrations.

New Award: Rising Star

The CALL Grants & Chapter Awards Committee is pleased to announce a new award, the Rising Star Award, intended to recognize and celebrate emerging talent and leadership potential in CALL and law librarianship.

CALL members in the first five years working in law librarianship are eligible for the award. Please see the attached full description for more information. Please submit a completed CALL grant application to the CALL Grants & Chapter Awards Committee Chair on or before April 23, 2025. Note that the Committee has revised the awards form. CALL Grants are available to CALL members throughout the year.

Grant funding is available for all types of continuing education programs, including attendance at the AALL Annual Meeting (Deadline for AALL Annual Meeting CALL grants application submission is April 23, 2025). Members must demonstrate their need for funding support in the grant application.

The Grants & Chapter Awards Committee seeks nominations for the following awards:

• The Agnes and Harvey Reid Award for Outstanding Contribution to Law Librarianship – presented annually at the May business meeting for outstanding service to the chapter during the previous year or for contribution to law librarianship.
• Outstanding Lifetime Achievement in Law Librarianship Award – presented annually at the May business meeting for outstanding lifetime achievement in law librarianship.
• Outstanding In-House Publication Award – given to an individual or group who created in-house library materials (print or online) that are user and staff oriented, are relevant for law libraries, and are outstanding in quality.
• Rising Star Award — presented annually to recognize and celebrate emerging talent and leadership potential in CALL and law librarianship. CALL members in the first five years working in law librarianship are eligible for the award.
