On February 28th, a group of CALL members attended the GLAM Virtual Career Festival hosted by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Carrie Port, Stacia Stein, Lindsey Carpino, Ross Prolic, and Rachel Tomei presented “Your Path to Legal Librarianship: CALL,” with 10 Masters of Library Science students over two sessions. The group spoke about different roles within law librarianship, their personal career paths, and how CALL can be a resource for students. They received great questions from attendees including how to find internships or practicum in the field, and what the most important skills might be for those with no legal background.
Julie Melvin, Kathleen Larocca, and Lindsey Carpino each hosted 1-on-1 sessions to network, answer students’ questions, and promote CALL.
Thank you to all of the CALL members who put together this year’s presentation and donated their time to participate in GLAM.
