A Spring Issue Card Pull

We’re back again for the spring, with a series of cards that might be hopeful…or might just be promising a weird spring and summer to come. It’s up to you!

A lil blobby dude bounces around over stylized red hills and a faint sun: ENFIELD IL 1973. The text reads Agility and speed - They'll never believe you saw them - Propel yourself into new things, with the right supports

The Enfield Horror, visiting us from way down in the small Illinois town of Enfield, reminds us that even if they don’t believe you saw them (what is them? that’s up to you!), trying new things–carefully!–is a great idea.

Three mummy-ish guys float in the air over a stylized red field; Pasacougla Abductions, Pasacougla, MIssissippi, 1973

The Pascagoula Abductions, coming to us from 1973 Mississippi, suggest alternate ways of moving. Maybe it’s time to try a bike! Like the Enfield Horror, they also remind us that working with support–in groups, in their case–can help us not only get things done, but express ourselves better too.

A cartoon kitten bounces past a banana peel in front of a cartoon school. everything is very bright and cheerful, and the card says THE FOOL

We end with the most upbeat of all, the Fool. Despite their name, the Fool, much like spring, is a creature of opportunity. Things are changing, and the Fool is ready to grab them.

The Enfield Horror and the Pascagoula Abductions both remind us to try new things, with the proper support–and the Fool reminds us that this is a great time to give something new and different a try.

A note on the cards

Both decks come from my collection of indie tarot and oracle decks.

The Enfield Horror and the Pascagoula Abruptions both come from Eerie Encounters: A Cryptid Oracle Deck, created by Bedlam Arts & Goods (aka Eamon MacNamee).

The Fool comes from Cat the Explorer, by Sibibi Art.
