Hello, CALL, and happy spring! February marked the 70th anniversary of CALL’s creation, and Todd reflects on this a bit in his President’s Letter. Note that we will have more on this occasion, which will be celebrated at the May Business Meeting, in our next issue.

This winter issue is relatively slim, but we are more than delighted to present the featured piece, which is a true corker. Professor Emeritus Frank Houdek of SIU offers us an entertaining and engaging parallel history that covers the coincidence of last year’s return of the AALL Annual Meeting to Chicago and the Cubs’ momentous World Series victory. We hope it is a palate cleanser of sorts as well as an apropos lead-in to MLB opening day and warmer weather ahead.
